WestJet Airline choose Costa Rica as its first Central American destination
Westjet opened its first route to Central America with a connecting flight in Toronto to Liberia, Guanacaste.
WestJet is a low-cost airline offering scheduled services to 81 destinations in North America and the Caribbean and its fleet consists of 99 Boeing 737 aircraft.
The airline will fly twice a week (Monday and Saturday) with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with capacity of 166 passengers. This flight will provide the country with 34,528 seats available per year to travel from/to Canada, which is the second largest tourist market to Costa Rica after the United States.
