AIR Pacific has introduced a second weekly flight to Honolulu and Vancouver to coincide with the peak summer season. In a statement yesterday, Air Pacific's managing director John Campbell said the second service would begin on July 1.It will be operated by a 160-seat Boeing 737-800, departing Nadi at 10.50pm on Sundays."This mirrors the existing Friday Boeing 737-800 flight from Nadi to Vancouver via Honolulu and provides full reinstatement of the Fiji/Canada link temporarily disrupted when planned code share flights with Harmony Airlines of Canada were terminated," he said.Harmony Airways, a five-year-old Canadian full-service airline, said last month it would end scheduled flights, blaming rising costs and competition from larger rivals.Air Pacific said it was delighted to renew the full schedule between Fiji, Honolulu and Vancouver to ensure people could travel readily between Fiji and Canada, especially during the peak summer season."
