BEST SUNSET ROMANTIC DESTINATIONS
As you can probably guess, I love my job and serving brides with their honeymoon, destination wedding and romance travel needs. Here are some of the top sunset destinations for romance that I have come across during my adventures.
PUERTO VALLARTA AND RIVIERA NAYARIT
Stretching from the city of Puerto Vallarta, along the miles and miles of beautiful soft sand, and including Nuevo Vallarta, is the Riviera Nayarit, all of which face directly West. Some of the best resort room views can be had from the Dreams Puerto Vallarta, with two tower buildings - all rooms overlooking the beach and ocean, the Dreams Villamagna oceanview rooms with the jacuzzi located right on your balcony, the Villa Premiere with their over-size balconies and the RIU Palace upgraded oceanview rooms.
NEGRIL, JAMAICA
Since this part of Jamaica is located exactly West on the island, it affords amazing and breathtaking sunset views every night! Try the Riu Negril or Couples Negril for a romantic rendez-vous with the setting sun.
ARORANGI, COOK ISLANDS
On this Westerly side of the island of Rarotonga, are some spread-out and spoiled beachfront hotels that are blessed with the dancing orange array of colors of the sunset nightly. I like the Castaway Beach resort, The Crown Beach Resort and their beachfront and spacious bungalows, and the Edgewater for those looking for more of a panaromic sunset view from a high story level.
ST. JAMES, BARBADOS
Heading North of Bridgetown, you will go through a series of quaint seaside towns - with their sophisticated and quaint restaurants and hotels. The posh hotels would include the Four Seasons, Fairmont and Sandy Lane but those less expensive and all-inclusive and with the same sunset, are the Mango Bay, Almond Beach Club, and Almond Beach Village.
SOUFRIERE, CASTRIES, and RODNEY BAY, ST. LUCIA
This festive island basks in it's lush and natural greenery, a great contrast to the warm colors of the sunsetting sky. Here, Jade Mountain, which is perched high on a hill and has an infinity pool and no wall facing the land and sea, takes the cake for most romantic sunset views. If that is not within your budget, try Rendez-vous, the first couples-only resort concept. This quaint beachfront hotel has a beachfront and sophisticated restaurant, which is the ideal setting for watching the sun dip into the water. The modern Calabash Cove is also high on a hill so offers stunning sunset views, but the Bay Gardens Beach Resort offers that all-inclusive experience and beachfront atmosphere that so many wedding groups seek.
