InterContinental Sydney has been named one of the five best harbour hotels in the world according to The Independent UK, February 2007.

The iconic Sydney property, located opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens and commanding panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and The Opera House, was ranked amongst some of the world’s leading waterfront hotels.

Most of the rooms at InterContinental Sydney have harbour views with the Australia Suite, the hotel’s luxury Presidential Suite, enjoying an open air terrace. Other spots with dress circle harbour views include Sydney’s only rooftop Executive Lounge, Club InterContinental. Located on Level 32 of the hotel, this spectacular lounge is kept for the exclusive use of Club InterContinental Guests who receive a raft of privileges for a premium on top of their room rate.
On 20th February 2007, Club InterContinental was the most exclusive place to be seen, when all eyes were on Sydney Harbour to celebrate the ‘Royal Rendezvous’ or meeting of the world’s most famous ocean liners – the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2. Select guests and Club Bar members were personally invited by General Manager, Mr Alvaro Rey, to enjoy one of the city’s biggest fireworks displays.
