THINK RAROTONGAN BEACH RESORT & SPA & AITUTAKI LAGOON RESORT & SPA
With so many romantic choices out their for your honeymoon or destination wedding, it's hard to think 'out of the box' when searching for your true paradise. Yes, it's easy to just jump into a pre-set charter package to somewhere warm for this special occassion but why would you do the same trip that you and your spouse can do at any other time?
If you're considering something different, a place that is both seductive and secluded, a place that you can do as much as you want or as little, a place that tantalizes your senses and refreshes your soul, than the Cook Islands is for you!
The largest island of the Cook Islands is Rarotonga and here sits bold and beautiful is the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa. It's comprehensive facilities and all-inclusive option yeilds as great as services that you would find at any 4-5 star resort in the Caribbean. However, combine their brand new luxurious honeymoon bungalow and the property's beachfront location on the very white powdery beach with some of the best snorkeling in the world, polynesian culture, and most friendly staff, you will be quick to put this travel experience as one of the best you have ever had!
I would personally recommend sparing two weeks or more for this trip and breaking it up with a visit to the island of Aitutaki. Near here is where they filmed the current series of the hit TV show, 'Survivor'. This little island-hop journey also gives you some of the best scenery by air as you fly over scattered islands throughout incredibly turquois-blue water.
The magical hideaway of the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa, is the only property in the Cook Islands that has those most romantic bungalows in the world - overwater! Be indulged and spoiled during this honeymoon from your honeymoon! (and if it's not your honeymoon, be treated as if it were!).
10 night combo packages with airfare from Los Angeles, 5 nights at the Rarotongan, 4 nights at the Aitutaki Lagoon, inter-island flights, lei greeting and airport transfers start only at around CAD$3280 per person including tax.

Caribbean Airlines, Trinidad and Tobago-based Caribbean Airlines, has unveiled its new livery and logo. The new look will replace British West Indian Airways (BWIA) on January 1, 2007.
Caribbean Airline's new livery centers on a green and blue hummingbird in mid-flight. Beside the hummingbird is the carrier's name stretches in magenta and purple-hued lettering.
"The hummingbird is found only in the New World (Western Hemisphere),”said Peter Davies, CEO of BWIA, “early references to Trinidad refer to it as the land of the hummingbird, making the symbol highly appropriate as an emblem for Caribbean Airlines," The airline's style will be professional, personable and genuine “very natural and easy” according to Davies and the carrier's character will reflect the food, music, decor, language and personality of the region.
The BWIA CEO promised a seamless transition from one company to another on January 1.
Tickets purchased for travel on BWIA will be honoured on Caribbean Airlines. Frequent flyer miles and membership in Club BWEE will transfer automatically.
Caribbean Airlines' fleet will consist of two Airbus A340s and five 737-800s.

Ian Wright, famous for eating fried cockroaches in Cambodia, riding a bull in Mexico, dodging lava drops in Vanuatu, and cruising the U.S.A. on a Harley, brought his out-going personality and quirkly sense of humour to the stage at MacEwan Hall at the University of Calgary Monday night.
The large crowd was delighted to partake in Ian's travel slide show presentation of his worldwide journeys, his trips prior to his stardom, and even his hilarous video submission to be a host for the very popular Lonely Planet (now Pilot Guides division of Globe Trekkers) television show. For nearly two and a half hours Ian told his exciting travel tales to Europe, Cambodia, Greenland, Mongolia, Tahiti, Brazil and more.
Although he is performing this show nationally in all of the major cities across Canada, he seemed to have as much enthusiasm in telling them as if he was doing so for the very first time. His natural, approachable, funny, lively and spontaneous personality makes him as much of a highlight to watch, on the tube or live in person, as the destinations he visits.
When asked what are his most favorite places in the world, he was quick to answer that Greenland was one of them. His face lit up as he recalled the solitarity that he felt while he was there being absorbed into the quiet and sheer beauty of the landscape. He also talked highly of Cambodia, describing the locals as "living more for the present then for the future."
As some of his least favorite travel experiences, he described how his director once got attacked by monkeys at the Monkey Temple in Nepal and after being bit in the butt (literally), they had to rush him to the hospital in fear that rabbies might set in! Another time, before he was host to the tv show, he was hitch-hiking throughout Europe with a buddy. Eventhough he recommends travel by hitch-hiking, he talked about one instance where one of the drivers - a big, burley angry-about-life sort of a man, falsely accused him of stealing money! Never-the-less, his likable sense of humour quickly got him out of that situation and running away from that mess as fast as he could!
Ian Wright said his home-life has changed alot since he began playing host to the show almost 16 years ago. He has gone from working and traveling almost seven months of the year to only three months of the year. Now married with two step sons in their teens, he claims that there is more work at home than at his job. When asked if he has a second job on his 'off days' he laughed hysterically replying only with, "Me, work?"
When asked if he would ever retire from the job, he replied that, "they would have to pry me away from the best job in the world!"
Pilot Guides can be seen on the 'Outdoor Life Network' on Mondays at 8 PM MST, and ABC on Saturdays at 7:30 PM MST, Fridays at 3:00 PM MST, and Mondays at 12:30 PM.

Vatulele was named "Fiji's Leading Resort" at the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony held in Turks and Caicos, Sept 20.
This award caps many others the romantic hideaway has won since inception. Vatulele was named Small Luxury Hotels, 'Hotel of the Year' in 2000. It was named Fiji's top resort in the 2005 AAA Tourism Awards, following its local industry award the year earlier as the Best Boutique Resort in Fiji. Fortune magazine named The Point #2 in the Top Ten Barefoot Resorts in the World in 2002. The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the enormous achievements to be found in all sectors of the global travel industry. In the years since, new technology has ensured that travel has maintained its position as one of the fastest-growing industries on Earth. Also during that time, dedicated travel professionals and their clients have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the best endorsement that any travel product could receive. They are often referred to as the 'Academy Awards' of Tourism. It is the world's most comprehensive travel awards ceremony, with trophies awarded in all areas of the industry. 167,000 travel agents voted this year in over 200 countries around the world.

Aeroplan has issued an ultimatum to its members – use your points, or lose your points. Beginning in Jan., Aeroplan miles will carry a 7 yr. expiry date. As well, beginning Jul. ‘07, members will have to earn or redeem points at least once a year or lose all their miles. Expired miles will be able to be reinstated at a price – over $1,000 for 100,000 Miles. The move is to help Aeroplan shed the liability of unused miles. Toronto Star
------------------------------------------------------------------
Source
Air Canada's popular Aeroplan rewards program has delivered to its 5 million members a controversial ultimatum about their loyalty points: Use them or lose them.
Beginning Jan. 1, Aeroplan will begin date-stamping the program's coveted miles. Those that aren't used within seven years will be deducted from members' accounts. Also, starting July 1, Aeroplan said its members will be required to either add or redeem miles once in a 12-month period. If they don't, all of their miles will expire.
Expired miles can be redeemed, although the price may be as much or more than a comparable airline ticket in some instances. To restore 100,000 expired Aeroplan miles, for instance, would cost $1,030 (fuel surcharges and tax for prospective redemptions not included).
Aeroplan's watershed announcements met mixed reaction yesterday from customers and Bay Street analysts. While several analysts suggested the move would help Aeroplan by culling unused miles as a liability from its balance sheet, some customers decried the changes.
"It's ridiculous," said Greg Clerkson, a Canadian banker who moved overseas to London from Toronto a year ago. "It might not cause a real kafuffle right now, but a year from now when Aeroplan starts taking points away from people, it's going to cause problems." While Aeroplan customers would only have to make a minimal purchase at one of the program's partners — which could be as simple as buying gas from Esso — some customers such as Clerkson said they will still be alienated. "I can't just pop down to Esso or Future Shop to make some trivial purchase to keep my account active," Clerkson said.
Still, Wellington West Capital Markets analyst Wui-Seng Kon said that while some Aeroplan shareholders seem to be disenchanted with yesterday's news — Aeroplan units fell 11 cents to $15.64 — the changes may spur some of the program's casual members to become more active with the program. "They may say, `we better step up,'" said the analyst, who has a "buy" rating on Aeroplan units with a $17 price target. Aeroplan chief executive Rupert Duchesne said during a conference call with analysts that the company didn't expect "a great deal of resistance to these. These are prudent measures for us in terms of running the programs financially responsibly for everybody."
Aeroplan isn't the first airline to put an expiry date on miles, and another change announced yesterday by the Montreal company should make it less complicated for members to redeem flights.
Aeroplan, which a year ago was spun off as an income fund by Air Canada parent company ACE Aviation Holdings Inc., said it would allow customers to redeem their points for any seat on Air Canada flights. In recent years, just 15 per cent of seats on the carrier's planes have been reserved for Aeroplan users.
But since Aeroplan will have to buy seats directly from Air Canada, booking flights on popular routes may require more miles than customers might expect. That could be good news for Aeroplan rivals like the Royal Bank of Canada's Avion Visa card, which advertises "unrestricted access" on any airline to its users.
